Since 2001, Creative Movement has become a basic discipline in the degree program of the National Academy of Dance in Rome.

Maria Elena Garcia is a dancer, choreographer, dance-movement therapist, and psychologist. She is the founder of the Garcia-Plevin method of dance. Patrizia Macagno is a dancer, choreographer, and professor at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza of Rome, Italy. Marcia Plevin is a dancer, choreographer, dance-movement therapist, and psychologist. She is the cofounder of the Garcia-Plevin method of dance."
