About Ayla Lepine

Kate Jordan is a PhD candidate at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. Her doctoral research examines the role of women religious in the design and construction of nineteenth and twentieth-century convents - a subject upon which she has published and given numerous conference papers. She is currently teaches architectural history at Queen Mary University London Ayla Lepine is a lecturer in art history at the University of Essex, where her research focuses on religion and the arts in Britain and the United States in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. She has written and lectured widely on Victorian visual culture, the Gothic Revival and contemporary architectural theory. She has held an Andrew W Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Courtauld Institute of Art and was a 2012-13 Fellow at Yale University's Institute of Sacred Music.
