When her father-in-law is murdered and her husband is threatened with his life for benefiting from Capitalism, the couple is forced to flee their country. Olga's story takes us from her grandmother's life in Tsarist Russia, through the fire and blood of the revolution and her parents' willing acceptance of life under Stalin, to her own youth and gradual awakening in a Russia reborn after some 70 years of absolute state control.
