Solved Problems in Electromagnetics free pdf This book presents the fundamental concepts of electromagnetism through problems with a brief theoretical introduction at the beginning of each chapter. The present book has a strong didactic character. It explains all the mathematical steps and the theoretical concepts connected with the development of the problem. It guides the reader to understand the employed procedures to learn to solve the exercises independently. The exercises are structured in a similar way: The chapters begin with easy problems increasing progressively in the level of difficulty. This book is written for students of physics and engineering in the framework of the new European Plans of Study for Bachelor and Master and also for tutors and lecturers.

About Felix Salazar Bloise

Prof. Dr. Felix Salazar Bloise studied Physics the at the Complutense University of Madrid (1981-1987), and received the Ph.D. degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) in 1992. He was awarded the Ph.D. Prize in the academic course 1993-94 and in 2004 the best textbook of the year by the General Foundation of the University (FGU). In 1995 was appointed Associate Professor of Applied Physics at the School of Mines of Madrid (ETSIM). During the period 1994-95 and 1997 he was a visiting assistant research at the Universitat des Saarlandes. Since 2006 he currently is a visiting Professor at Lehrstuhl fur Messsystem-und Sensortechnik (Technische Universitat Munchen-TUM), and in the period 2012-15 he has also been a visiting scholar at CREOL (University of Central Florida). He teaches at UPM on General Physics, Electrodynamics, and Solid state Physics, and lectures one international course at TUM. His scientific research is focused to the analysis of physical properties of systems by using random electromagnetic fields (speckle) and ultrasound techniques. He is co-author of scientific and technical papers and of several books, and holds some patents. She is a Fellow of the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur angewandte Optik (DGaO), Arbeitskreis der Hochschullehrer fur Messtechnik (AHMT), and the Optical Society of America (OSA). Prof. Dr. Rafael Medina Ferro, born in Madrid (Spain) in 1961, has been teaching at the School of Mines of Madrid (ETSIM), at the Polytechnic University in Madrid (UPM) since 1986. He was graduated in 1985 and got his Ph.D. in 1989 in Mining Engineering from the Polytechnic University in Madrid. Since 1996 he is Associate Professor at this High School. His teaching includes topics in Mathematics, General Physics, and Mechanical Vibrations. He is author and co-author of five books for university students. In 2004 one of these books won the award of the best textbook by the General Foundation of the University (FGU). His research has been developed mainly in mechanical vibrations and wave propagation in materials, although he also worked in a European Project about electrostatic effects in powder mixtures. His more recent research involved impact-echo analysis and blasting effects in buildings. He is a Fellow of the Spanish Association of Mechanical Engineering. Prof. Dr. Dr. Ana Bayon Rojo received her Master of Mining Engineering in 1984 from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). After working in the industry she returned to University (UPM) where obtained the Ph.D. in 1992. Her investigation was recognized by the Ph.D. Prize in the academic year 1992-93. In 1992-93 she was a visiting Assistant Professor at the Institut Francais du Petrol (IFP) in Paris. In 1995 was promoted to Associate Professor of Applied Physics at the School of Mines of Madrid (ETSIM). Her teaching field includes General Physics, Electrodynamics, and Mechanical Vibrations, and also doctoral courses about non-destructive techniques of measurement. In 2004 she was awarded the best textbook of the year for university students by the General Foundation of the University (FGU). Her scientific area is focused to the vibration analysis by using optical and acoustical methods. She is co-author of scientific articles, book chapters and of three books. She is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA). Prof. Dr. Francisco Gascon Latasa received the Master of Science at the University of Zaragoza in 1958. In next four years he investigated in the topic of nuclear fusion obtaining the Ph.D. in 1962. In this year he reached a grant from the French Government (ASTEF) for researching at the C. F. E. Fontenay-aux-Roses (France) in the section of nuclear fusion. In 1963 he was a visiting assistant research at L'Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Electrotechnique (ENSEEIHT). In 1964, after passing briefly by the University of Barcelona, was elected Associate Professor at the ETUI Industrial of Vitoria. In 1966 was visiting Professor at the Clarendon Laboratory (Oxford) for researching in superconductivity. In 1967 he began at the ETS Arquitectura in Sevilla until 1978, year in which he moved to University of La Coruna. In 1979 he got a full professorship in Applied Physics at the ETSI Minas of Madrid. In 1995 he returned to the University of Sevilla and in 2009 he assumed Emeritus status. He has lectured in many different fields as Theoretical Physics, Mechanics, Thermodynamics, General Physics, Electrodynamics, and Physics of Continuum Media. He is Author of the book Fundamental of Thermotechnics (1976) and in 2004 the book Problems of Electricity and Magnetism was awarded the best work of the year for students by the General Foundation of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (FGU). His main research fields are the holographic and speckle interferometry and the vibration analysis, where he has published many papers and book chapters. He is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA).
