A major problem in a baby with oesophageal atresia is the associated anomalies which are present in over 50% of the patients- therefore section 4 is devoted to the consideration of these anomalies with emphasis on the most important specific anomalies. It also includes the overall care of the child and family and to complete the monograph by describing the management of specific problems and complications, and the longterm results of surgery. This book is presented in the hope that it will be of help to all concerned with the care of the baby with oesophageal atresia and its family, recognizing that the field is wide, involving as it does representatives of many medical and paramedical disciplines.
