But after being rescued by Phoenix and Acting Captain Jhenna, it is discovered that the recovered satellite, the Corr Torri, has its own secrets, including a way to take down the Parakon Empire once and for all. Now Captain Dankin must take Phoenix into the heart of Parakon space, the Red Sector, wherein lies the secret to their star-drives, the Kaepec anomaly. But what is supposed to be a quick, efficient mission quickly goes awry as Phoenix is suddenly faced with twelve of the Parakon's most deadly warships, the Warlons. Now Phoenix is faced with the most deadly threat it has ever faced, and not everyone will make it out alive.

About Michael Smith

Michael Smith lives in Venice, Florida with his wife, Lisa, and several four-legged, furry kids. He has always been a science fiction fan, be it portrayed in books, TV or movies. He strongly feels Star Trek, The Next Generation was the best Star Trek series and J.J. Abrams' take on Star Trek was the best film. Another strong influence is author Alastair Reynolds. The Pilgrimage of the Phoenix is his baby. Started eight years ago under a different title, the book morphed and altered in his mind repeatedly before finally settling into a three-book series it is today.
