About Rochelle Kopp

Rochelle Kopp is founder and Managing Principal of Japan Intercultural Consulting, an international training and consulting firm focused on Japanese business. She is a recognized authority on Japanese culture and business practices. Rochelle works frequently with American firms that have Japanese customers, joint venture partners, and suppliers, and with the global operations of Japanese firms. Rochelle gained firsthand experience of Japanese corporate culture when she lived in Japan and worked at the Tokyo headquarters of a major Japanese financial institution. Since that time, as a consultant Rochelle has worked closely with numerous Japanese companies of various sizes and in a wide variety of industries, including many of Japan's most prominent firms. Prior to establishing Japan Intercultural Consulting, Rochelle worked at two U.S.-based international consulting firms, specializing in Japan-U.S. and other global projects. She holds a B.A. in History from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business. Pernille Rudlin is fluent in Japanese having lived in Japan for 9 years both as a child and an adult. She spent nearly a decade at Mitsubishi Corporation working in their London operations and Tokyo headquarters, including a stint in their International Human Resource Development Office. After leaving Mitsubishi, Pernille started her own consulting company and then set up Japan Intercultural Consulting's operations in Europe in 2004. Since then she has conducted seminars for Japanese and European companies on intercultural communications and management, in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, the UK and the USA, both on Japanese cultural topics and on working with different European cultures. She has written or contributed to several books on Japanese business and management, including Encyclopedia of Japanese Business and Management, A History of Mitsubishi Corporation in London: 1915 to present day, Kaisha no Naka no Gaikokujin (Foreigners in the Japanese Corporation) and Business Communication.
