Ariadne's Web PDF ePub eBook

Books Info:

Ariadne's Web free pdf Fred Saberhagen is the author of three highly acclaimed series: the Dracula novels, the Berserker adventures, and the Book of Lost Swords. With Ariadne's Web, Saberhagen builds on the success of the new fantasy series he kicked off in spectacular fashion with The Face of Apollo.

Here Saberhagen puts his own twist on the classic story of the Minotaur. Ariadne is the daughter of King Minos of Crete, and the Minotaur is her half brother -- his body deformed when attempted to assume the powers of a God, making him half-man, half-beast.

Theseus is a young man sentenced to be sacrificed to the gods, and Ariadne falls deeply in love with him. She conspires to save him from his grisly fate, but doesn't count on Dionysus stepping in to complicate matters. With mythical beasts and whimsical gods confronting them at every turn, Ariadne and Theseus must find their way through a maze of events that are as twisted as they are dangerous.

"Saberhagen is a masterful storyteller.... I have every intention of reading the next book in the series. Saberhagen has given us a rich new world."
ABSOLUTE MAGNITUDE

"In The Face of Apollo, Fred Saberhagen once again demonstrates his remarkable ability to create worlds which, for all their chaotic violence, readers can imagine wanting to live in."
DAVID DRAKE

"Saberhagen offers classical scholarship, wit, and a brisk pacing in an admirable coming-of-age story that should appeal to readers unfamiliar with the Swords and attract Swords-familiar readers in swarms."
