Books Info:

The American Empire free pdf 'The American Empire' by Amaury de Riencourt is a bold, objective and carefully documented analysis of the rise and spread of America's global power. From the eighteenth century's great colonial wars between British, French and Spanish empires emerged, after the 1776 Declaration of Independence, the first free American United States. Following the First and Second World Wars which destroyed, impoverished and stripped European colonial empires of their overseas possessions, the United States of America became the heir to "the global throne". From this point on, de Riencourt embarks on a detailed study of the United States's relentless expansion and dominance, becoming in the process a technological, industrial and military superpower spreading across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Simultaneously the author introduces the Soviet Union's equally ambitious imperialist tendencies and the threat posed by Communist China. Though overtaken by the current fluctuations in international relations, this comprehensive and well researched book offers an historical background tp the present complex world situation.
