Books Info:

Thomas Jefferson and His Family free pdf Throughout his lifetime, Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) displayed brilliant abilities as an architect, inventor, statesman and scientist. This accomplished American President - the author of the Declaration of Independence - and his family are the subjects of Tom Tierney's latest addition to the presidential family paper doll series. An accurately rendered, full-color collection of 10 dolls and 26 costumes depicts the President, his daughters Maria and Martha, Dolley Madison (who frequently served as White House hostess) and six grandchildren. Selections from the presidential wardrobe include a dark blue cutaway coat and matching breeches worn for Inauguration, silk waistcoats, a heavy coat with shoulder cape, clawhammer tail coats and a balloon-sleeved cotton shirt. For the ladies, there are high-waisted Empire-style gowns of satin and silk, pelisses (outer coats), a tunic overdress, muslin chemises and more. Children's fashions generally follow adult clothing styles. Dramatic turbans, top hats, feathered bonnets, fans, jewelry and other period accessories accompany the costumes.
