WAYNE K.CHAPMAN is Professor of English at Clemson University, South Carolina and author of Yeats and English Renaissance Poetry (Macmillan, 1990) and articles on Yeats's library, and its textual evidences. He is editor of the South Carolina Review. With Michael J.Sidnell he co-edited the manuscripts of The Countess Cathleen for the Cornell Yeats Manuscript Series (1999). - WARWICK GOULD is Professor of English Literature at the University of London and Director of the Institute of English Studies in the School of Advanced Study. He is co-author (with Marjorie Reeves) of Joachim of Fiore and the Myth of the Eternal Evangel in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries (Clarendon 2001), and co-editor of The Secret Rose, Stories by W.B.Yeats: A Variorum Edition (1992), The Collected Letters of W.B.Yeats, Volume II, 1896-1900 (1997), Mythologies, forthcoming in the new Collected Editions of W.B.Yeats, and Yeats's Occult Diaries (1898-1901), also forthcoming from Palgrave.
