PID Control free pdf This book describes how to control variables of physical dynamic systems -- as level, temperature, pressure, speed, and position -- using the PID controller. (PID = proportional, integral, derivative). This controller is without doubt the most important and most frequently used controller used in practical industrial applications. There may be hundreds of PID control systems in one industrial plant to keep process variables close to their set-points and to ensure the stability of the whole plant. The book gives a well written and easily understandable introduction to practical and theoretical aspects of PID control of dynamic systems, well suited for introductory control courses in BSc and in MSc studies. It is also a reference for the practical engineer. The theoretical basis for this book may be found in the book Dynamic Systems -- modelling, analysis and simulation by the same author.

About Finn Haugen

Finn Haugen, has a MSc degree in engineering cybernetics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1985. He has been teaching dynamic systems and control engineering for students and engineers for a couple of decades. He works in his own company TechTeach, and also holds a position at the Telemark University College in Norway.
