Morning Star to Evening Star free pdf Glen Phillips was born in Southern Cross, Western Australia, and spent his earliest years in country towns. He graduated from the University of WA with First Class Honours in 1957 and is now Honorary Professor of English at Edith Cowan University where he has taught for more than 50 years. Of his fifteen poetry books, earlier works include Spring Burning: New and Selected Poems (1999), Sacrificing the Leaves (1988) and Lovesongs, Lovescenes (1991). More recent books are Singing Granites (2008) with Anne Born, Six Seasons (2012), Four Elemental Poems (2012) and The Woman River (2012). More than twenty-five anthologies, including the Penguin Anthology of Australian Poetry, have featured his work and six of his short stories have been published, mainly internationally. Glen has poems published nationally and internationally and his work has been translated into several languages. He was a co-founder of Poetry in Motion, a nationally and internationally successful poetry performance group in the late 1980s. He also has been invited to perform at poetry readings in Britain, America, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Singapore, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka and China. In 2006 he completed a PhD in Creative Writing at Edith Cowan University, entitled Land Whisperings and a Poetics of Newplace and Birthplace. His latest poetry book Heilongjiang Summers (a bi-lingual collection) is being launched in China and Australia early in 2013.
