About Chap Percival

Chap Percival is a lifelong educator with a passion for sharing his knowledge of astronomy. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he holds a BA in mathematics and physics from Taylor University, an MAT in planetarium education from Michigan State University, and an MEd in instructional technology from the University of Virginia. He has been an astronomy educator since 1969 as a classroom teacher, club sponsor, and planetarium director, including teaching high school astronomy since 1995 at Pine View School in Osprey, Florida, one of the top schools in the nation. He has published newspaper articles, been interviewed on radio, and volunteered with the National Park Service as a sky interpreter. He's also given an astronomy talk at the Grand Canyon Star Party and led groups to view five different total solar eclipses.
