Logica Magna PDF ePub eBook

Books Info:

Logica Magna free pdf Continuing the publication of Paul of Venice's "Logica Magna", the present volume covers the first third of the final treatise, and deals with the conjunctive and disjunctive terms and propositions. Paul makes extensive use of the distinction between the composite sense and divided sense of "and" and of "or", and lists numerous rules for determining when the connective is being used in one sense and when in the other. He also discusses at length the logical relations between "and" when used to connect propositions. There is a parallel discussion covering the logical properties of "or" employed as a term connective and as a propositional connective. The volume is a mine of information about the state of the art propositional logic at the end of the 14th-century.
