Crew Cats of Kittenweem free pdf Don't believe all you read about cats!! Generations of them in the little Scottish port of Kittenweem had led an absolute dog's life. Hunger and misfortune were all they had ever known. These poor cats certainly never got the cream. All because, centuries earlier, the mighty Catsbell of Ninelives had been stolen from their village by Black Dog, an evil canine pirate. This bell was their protector and bringer of good luck. It also guaranteed good fishing and as many mice as they could wish for. Then one day, Captain Bobtail, a retired sea captain, discovered something very interesting under his floorboards. It was an ancient parchment handed down to his long dead father. It described the terrible deed and gave Bobtail some clues as to the bells' location. Soon he assembled a ragtag crew of assorted weird and wonderful cats and set sail for high drama on the high seas. They are lured to the dog-infested island lair of Black Pup, the equally evil descendant of Black Dog. As the battle for the bell ensues, good versus evil has become cat versus dog!

About Duncan Leith

Duncan Leith was born in Dundee in 1953 and began his writing career aged 17, with D C Thomson in his home city. For more than 30 years, Duncan wrote prolifically for Beano, Dandy, Beezer, Topper etc, as well as the ever popular Christmas annuals. On taking early retirement, Duncan brought a little holiday cottage in Pittenween on the beautiful Fife coast. This move became the inspiration for 'Crew Cats', his first children's book. A lifelong cyclist, Duncan raced for a few years then began touring worldwide with his late and hugely missed partner, Irena. Each summer Duncan can still be found scaling the famous Alpine or Pyrenean climbs of the Tour de France. The acclaimed Pittenweem Arts Festival has recently inspired Duncan to take up the paint brush. What better antidote to house spent in the saddle? A love of the sea and wildlife should also fuel Duncan's imagination for sometime to come.
