J. Andrew Brown is Associate Professor of Spanish and Comparative Literature at Washington University in St. Louis, USA. He is the author of Test Tube Envy: Science and Power in Argentine Narrative, Cyborgs in Latin America, and the editor of Tecnoescritura: Literatura y tecnologia en America latina. He currently serves as the Latin American editor of Revista de Estudios Hispanicos. M. Elizabeth Ginway is Associate Professor of Portuguese in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Florida, US. She is the author of Brazilian Science Fiction: Cultural Myths and Nationhood in the Land of the Future, which was placed on the "Recommended Reading List for Non-Fiction" by Locus: Magazine of the Science Fiction and Fantasy World in 2005.
