Books Info:

Life and Learning with Autistic Spectrum Diffability free pdf A qualified counsellor, social worker and psychologist, Wendy Lawson is well-known and respected for her writing and workshops based on her own experiences as a person with autism. Wendy prefers the term 'diffability' to disorder, and her research seeks to explore what being differently abled means in a world of neuro-diversity. Her strong personality and sense of humour make Wendy's talks and workshops hugely popular in both northern and southern hemispheres. This DVD comprises Wendy's full 2.5-hour presentation, during which she explains the workings of the autistic mind from her own insightful and often jocular perspective. This fascinating workshop will be of great benefit to parents and professionals, as well as providing an inspirational resource for people on the spectrum themselves.

About Wendy Lawson

Wendy Lawson was originally diagnosed as being intellectually disabled, then in her teens as being schizophrenic, and finally in 1994, as having an autism spectrum disorder. The mother of four children, Wendy has been married, separated and divorced, has experienced the death of one of her teenage sons, lost friends and status due to being openly gay, faced ill health and recently come to terms with the fact that she is aging! Her youngest son was diagnosed at the age of 12 as having Asperger's Syndrome. As a qualified counsellor, social worker and psychologist Wendy has operated her own private practice for many years, and is currently working towards a PhD.
