Books Info:

Nodding to Strangers free pdf The keen observation and exposure of both nature and human foibles is the work of the satirist or essayist. Cultivating sharp awareness of the inner turmoil of the mind, emotions, and soul consumes the philosopher or theologian who attempts to impose on creation an orderly system. But it is the poet who attempts to combine the two, for writing poetry is an exploration of both the outer and inner worlds we all inhabit. In these poems Linda Keegan grapples with the wild joy and pain of existence using gently biting words of sorrow which still express the redeeming courage of hope. Alan Cutter, author of "At the Altar of War"

About Linda Keegan

Over her decades, as it is with all people, Linda Keegan's life has contained wonderful joy as well as heartbreak and loss. Today a plaque hangs in her kitchen, which reads, "Beyond Lucky, Blessed." This phrase is now her mantra as she revisits the blessings and milestones in her life: a son, a daughter, four granddaughters, two great-granddaughters and a great-grandson. She was owner of The Art Studio in McMurray, PA, a fine arts school for everyone. She has taught piano, guitar, watercolor and oils and is well published in poetry and short fiction. She has survived ovarian cancer, and the deaths of another son and her husband. For numerous years, Linda Keegan studied at Carlow College under the expertise of the late poet Patricia Dobler, in Dobler's infamous Pittsburgh workshop "Madwomen in the Attic." Through intensive workshop study of the free verse of Sylvia Plath, Galway Kinnell, Mary Oliver, and other 20th century poets, Keegan found her own rhythms and voice. She held residencies at Yaddo and the Virginia Center for Creative Arts. Originally from New Hampshire, she has retired to Bradenton, FL, where she is a volunteer watercolor teacher at The Center for Building Hope, a cancer support center in Sarasota.
