About Beth M. Schwartz

Beth M. Schwartz (PhD, State University of New York, Buffalo) is currently the William E. and Catherine Ehrman Thoresen '23 Professor of Psychology and Assistant Dean of the College at Randolph College, Lynchburg, Virginia. In addition to numerous professional presentations at conferences, she has authored and co-authored many book chapters and articles in a variety of scholarly journals, including the Journal of Higher Education, Ethics and Behaviors, Law and Human Behavior, and Applied Developmental Science. Dr. Schwartz has also edited and co-authored numerous books, including An EasyGuide to APA Style, An EasyGuide to Research Presentations, Child Abuse: A Global View, Optimizing Teaching and Learning, and Evidence-Based Teaching for Higher Education. A fellow of the American Psychological Association, she is an award-winning teacher and scholar at Randolph College, where she teaches introductory psychology, research methods, cognitive psychology, forensic psychology, and the senior research capstone course. Janie H. Wilson (PhD, University of South Carolina) teaches and conducts research at Georgia Southern University. In the classroom, Dr. Wilson specializes in teaching and learning in statistics and research methods and focuses on involving undergraduates in her research as well as mentoring students to complete their own projects. Dr. Wilson is the author or co-author of a number of textbooks and contributed chapters. In addition, she has published in numerous journals, including Teaching of Psychology, Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Journal of Classroom Interaction, College Teaching, and Assessment
