About Charles Hughesdon

Born in 1909, Charles Hughesdon gained a scholarship at the Raines Foundation School in London. He began his career in insurance at the age of seventeen and went on to specialise in the aviation side of the business. A pilot himself, he served as an instructor in the RAF and was a wartime test pilot. His phenomenally successful brokering career allowed him to indulge in his other passions, horse racing and farming. Now retired, his lives with his wife Carol, mother of actor Nigel Havers, in Berkshire.
