About Robin L. Cautin

Robin L. Cautin is Dean of the College of Arts andSciences at Sacred Heart University, U.S.A. She was formerlyProfessor of Psychology, Associate Provost, and Dean ofUndergraduate Education at Manhattanville College, U.S.A. Herresearch focuses on the history of psychology, particularlyclinical psychology, the science-practice gap in clinicalpsychology, and misconceptions in abnormal and clinical psychology.She is the author of many articles and chapters published inpeer-reviewed journals and books. She is a Fellow of the AmericanPsychological Association and the Eastern PsychologicalAssociation, and in 2008 she received the Early Career Award fromAPA Division 26 (Society for the History of Psychology). She is amember of the Advisory Board of the Center for the History ofPsychology.

Scott O. Lilienfeld is Professor of Psychology at EmoryUniversity, U.S.A. He is founder and past editor ofScientific Review of Mental Health Practice, has been amember of more than fifteen journal editorial boards, and hasserved as Associate Editor of the Journal of AbnormalPsychology and Applied and Preventive Psychology. Hisprincipal areas of interest are personality disorders, psychiatricclassification and diagnosis, dissociative and anxiety disorders,and the science-practice gap in clinical psychology. He haspublished over 300 articles, book chapters, and books,including Brainwashed: The Seductive Appeal of MindlessNeuroscience (2013), Psychology: From Inquiry toUnderstanding (2010), and 50 Great Myths of PopularPsychology: Shattering Widespread Misconceptions about HumanBehavior (Wiley Blackwell, 2009). His work on psychologicalscience and pseudoscience has been featured widely in print and onTV and radio. Dr. Lilienfeld is past-president of the Societyfor the Scientific Study of Clinical Psychology and president ofthe Society for the Scientific Study of Psychopathy.
