About Dennis R. Maki

Dennis R. Maki, PhD, LMHC,CRC, NCC, is Chair and Professor of the Department of Rehabilitation and Counselor Education, College of Education, at The University of Iowa. He also holds three directorships at the Iowa Center for Assistive Technology Education and Research- Office of Graduate Teaching Excellence- and the Annual Summer School for Helping Professionals, The University of Iowa. His articles have appeared in such professional journals as Rehabilitation Education, Journal of Applied Rehabilitation Counseling, and Journal of Counseling and Development. Dr. Maki is also the recipient of several distinguished achievement awards including Distinguished Career and Special Contributions Award from the NCRE and The Alliance for Rehabilitation Counseling, respectively. He is a Past President of the Council on Rehabilitation Education and the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association.
