About Maurice Gueret

Dr Maurice Gueret is a well known figure in Irish medicine. For more than a decade, his Rude Health column in the Sunday Independent has been an unmissable feast for a huge weekly audience. His humorous writings and original commentary on all manner of materia medica simply delights readers. Maurice is a registered specialist in general practice, a member of the Society of Medical Writers and an exemplary dog walker. For many years he was health columnist for Image magazine and he has also graced the pages of Medicine Weekly, the Irish Medical Times, the Irish Medical News and Trinity Medical News. Three times Maurice has run for high political office, proving about as popular on doorsteps as birds that peck milk bottles. For over twenty years he has edited a giant slab of a publication called the Irish Medical Directory. Recently he overheard his daughter in the playground saying that her dad writes boring books for a living. This new compendium of his very best writings, 'What the Doctor Saw', is set to make amends.
