Bain free pdf Five people murdered. A single survivor ...or was he? It was the verdict that divided a nation. Convicted of murdering his family fifteen years earlier, David Bain walked out of the High Court a free man. To some it was a slap in the face of the victims, a terrible miscarriage of justice and an appalling slander of his dead father, Robin Bain. Others celebrated the not guilty verdicts and another chance for their innocent friend, who had grieved and suffered alone. You might think you know the story - it's been kept alive by David's indefatigable supporter, Joe Karam, whose name is now irrevocably linked into this strange and compelling human tragedy. There's been intense media speculation, books, articles and television programmes as Bain's appeals waxed and waned through courts in and outside of New Zealand. Chances are you only know a fraction. For the first time, David Bain's story is told by a man who covered it professionally from the beginning. It's an extraordinary story of damaged lives and hidden motives, of private agendas and public posturing. Keep an open mind and follow journalist Michael Turner into 65 Every Street and through the twists and turns of this country's most controversial murder trial. You'll learn some things you didn't know, things that haven't been made public before. Who walked away on 5 June 2009 - a killer or an innocent man?
