Jane is an engagingly eccentric, strangely attractive, likeable woman who is coming to terms with her disability. Her imagination runs wild and the stage is turned into a magical place where anything can happen. A crazy piece of stand-up in it's own right or a wild adventure with endless opportunity. Touching in places but ultimately seeks to make you cry with laughter- disabled or not. Broadway or West End production teams will love the countless opportunities for aesthetics offered by this script. The humour has a special resonance with people coming to terms with disability, old age or change.

About MS Esme Bates

Esme Jane Bates (E.J. Bates) attained a BA Hons Drama Education at Central School of Speech and Drama. She worked in London at the BBC for many years in various Tour Guide, Runner and Co-ordinator-type roles. Berkshire born and bred, she took a move back to the countryside as a Drama Director at a British, infant school, Winbury School, for many years and then shifted across to an affluent junior school for five years- a real eye opener! She then enjoyed working at a boys' senior school, Claires Court School, for nine years, where she enjoyed the banter of teenage life. She developed an enthusiasm and talent working with disabled pupils, as well as attaining excellent results in Public Speaking, Verse and Prose and Acting exams. Discovering she had MS, her life has changed immeasurably, but the disability has given her time and space to put all her wacky ideas into a collection of books. When not writing she enjoys her garden, theatre and eating out with her partner- as well as managing her MS. Nominated for Best Cameo NODA UK 2013 as Kitty in Taking Steps she was spurred on to act in more plays and she delights in seeing her theatre reviews published in local papers.
