About David Punter

David Punter is Professor of English at the University of Bristol. He is the author of many works of literary criticism and of four volumes of poetry. Among his works of criticism are The Literature of Terror: A History of Gothic Fictions from 1765 to the Present Day- Blake, Hegel and Dialectic- The Hidden Script: Writing and the Unconscious- The Romantic Unconscious: A Study in Narcissism and Patriarchy and Gothic Pathologies: The Text, the Body and the Law. He is also the editor of the Companion to the Gothic.
