Books Info:

The Making of John Lennon free pdf To many people, the history of The Beatles is a fairy story. The Making of John Lennon reveals new insights into the effects of Lennon's mental health and how his personality was shaped by his childhood in Liverpool. This book provides answers to questions such as why the true source of 'Strawberry Fields' could not be revealed, why Pete Best's college connection led to his sacking from the group, and why class backgrounds were the real reason for the break-up of The Beatles. An author and teacher who has lived and worked in Liverpool almost all his life, Francis Kenny has a unique perspective on the culture and background that ultimately made John Lennon the icon he is today.

About Francis Kenny

FRANCIS KENNY worked on building sites in Liverpool for around ten years before embarking on degrees in Economics, Sociology and Social Policy. He has lectured at university level on arts, culture and music and now works as a teacher in Liverpool. A lifelong Liverpudlian, Kenny has first hand experience of the prejudicial class issues which so influenced John Lennon's life and music. He met his wife in the Cavern Club and had tickets to see The Beatles in 1963 but didn't as he wasn't allowed to stay up when their flight was delayed!
